My workshops are inspired by Jinen Butoh. Any kind of body can dance it. Old, young, fat, thin, less or more able. Because it doesn't aim to reproduce forms or to gain and show virtuosic skills, it aims to embody and express what comes from our inner world.
There are three stages of the body in Butoh: the first one, called “empty body” or “zero body”, is its primordial state, physical and material, also called technical body. Second is the emotional body, or pain body, made of our emotions, of our inner pain. The third is the spiritual body, a trans-state catharsis. This state is multidimensional and open to receive and transform - so to say freedom.
Through various technics and physical exercises, I introduce the body in these three stages . Always accompanied by live music.
I'm very interested in poetics that can enhance the ability of a body to express, to open up. Butoh, with its path of sensitiveness, listening, embodiment, can lead to a deep and inspiring experience.
